Self determination - UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples

It is deeply saddening that the Indigenous People of Australia are still facing so many challenges and difficulties in our society today. Human rights are for everyone, around the world, irrespective of race, religion, gender, sexuality, age, ability...or any of the other myriad ways that humans stereotype and discriminate against others who are not just like them. If we want a future where everyone can live fully and fulfill their unique potential then this type of behaviour must end. The Declarations of Human Rights by the UN create a guide for 'best practice' for everyone, it is time that Governments/Corporations and Peoples around the world abided by them and made the world a better place for everyone.

Hope in a Changing Climate

This documentary shows a range of Permaculture Projects in Ethiopia, Rwanda and China  and the amazing and positive differences that can be made whether a community is dealing with the challenges of drought or flooding.

I have watched a great many documentaries and read a great deal about permaculture, and indeed we use the principles in our own home and garden as we are so impressed with the success of this system, and the way it cares for the earth and all of its inhabitants too.

Autism Acceptance - Thomas Sanders and Team

I have just been introduced to Thomas Sanders by one of my sons and loved this first video that we watched together about Autism Acceptance. It is wonderful to see people taking the time to learn about others in a respectful and thoughtful manner and a joy to watch people have the chance to share their own knowledge and understandings of a topic. Thanks goodness there are so many people who are eager to learn and share knowledge!

She Rides AU

I started cycling again last year and absolutely love it. I have just found out about this program and thought others may benefit from it too. Unfortunately in some areas it is not as safe to ride as others and not everyone is as bike aware so it is good to see that there are programs to help and areas off road to ride as well. Hopefully as more people ride the awareness of drivers will rise regarding driving near to cyclists of all kinds (and indeed all other road users).

Russia: Crackdown on Social Media Users

When you live in a country like Australia it is easy to forget how fortunate we are to have the right/responsibility to vote, free speech and media. This is not the case for many, many people in the world and this impinges human rights and holds back the potential/progress of these citizens and indeed these countries. We hope that one day everyone in the world has the right to vote and is provided an opportunity to do so that is convenient, free and counted properly. We also hope that one day everyone has the right to provide feedback and offer opinions on the way their country is being run without fear. As well we hope that one day everyone in the world has access to independent media/social media which is well researched and able to cover the issues that will improve the world for us all.
