Beetroots Gone Wild!


 We cleared out another section of garden which had been left for a while and found over 5 kilos of heirloom beetroots. The one above  was growing new beetroots from itself and I am wondering whether I should have just left it to see what would happen. Cannot help thinking that it looks like a  vegetable head that the children used to make.

I have now peeled and cooked a third of these and am making fritters for dinner, they tasted really nice still, despite not being the most beautiful plants on the planet...
