Backgarden - Sept 2012

 The passionfruit vine appears to be dying off so we will need to plan on what to do there. We have moved one of the peach trees into the back garden and hope that we can save it.

 The fruit-salad plant is now very large, though not fruited but the banana plant has struggled in the cold weather that we have been having.

 The lillypilly in the back garden is growing very well, behind the blackberry is branching out everywhere, hopefully lots of tasty fruit again this year.

The vine on the back wall is just getting its leaves back and the kaffir lime and bay tree are happy, however the curry plant seems to be struggling a little, will try feeding and mulching.

Fruit Salad and Banana Plants

Banana

 The banana tree is struggling a little with the strong winter wind here, but continues to grow, though we do now wish that we have not grown it within a tyre. It was a big struggle to get the three new plants growing from it off, but we managed, quadrupling the number of banana plants in our small garden. So far we have only eaten the leaves but do hope to get some fruit next season.

After initially struggling the fruit salad plant appears to have settled into its home under the Hibiscus Tree. It has doubled in size this year, and we hope that next year we may even get to taste some fruit.
