Berries and Blossom

 The peacharine tree has lovely blossoms on it.

 We harvested Kohlrabi, Celeriac and Italian Parsley and we cooked some great new recipes. Also made a stir fry and fritters with cauliflower, absolutely delicious.

These are the first blueberries on our new plant, it is covered in flowers, looking forward to that harvest too.

The nature strip paths now include flowers, the marigolds look happy and the fig tree is starting to get leaves on again.

Backgarden - Sept 2012

 The passionfruit vine appears to be dying off so we will need to plan on what to do there. We have moved one of the peach trees into the back garden and hope that we can save it.

 The fruit-salad plant is now very large, though not fruited but the banana plant has struggled in the cold weather that we have been having.

 The lillypilly in the back garden is growing very well, behind the blackberry is branching out everywhere, hopefully lots of tasty fruit again this year.

The vine on the back wall is just getting its leaves back and the kaffir lime and bay tree are happy, however the curry plant seems to be struggling a little, will try feeding and mulching.

Paths, Traps and Produce

 The front hedge is gradually becoming a hedge and now I have used newspaper and wood-chips to create a path to try and stop the grass continually growing into the garden.

 The mulberry tree is producing fruit and we are using the Mediterranean flytraps in all of our fruit trees. Hopefully this will be effective, and is less work than the exclusion bags we tried last year.

 Our kale and spinach has been very effective, now to find lots more recipes to use them in!

Here is the blueberry plant, lots of tiny flowers so we hope for fruit again this year. In the background is the fruit salad plant, we have not yet had fruit from this.
